Depending on the type of TT you can modify it a little to avoid the popping when you remove it and also use the modification to produce a vanished silk from you finger tips. All you need to do (this only works with the soft tenyo type) is instead of drilling a hole in the end to let the air in, just get a moddeling knife or scalpal (same thing really) and make a cur around where the end of the nail is, this should stay closed and can when worn.
Also once you have made the silk vanish, with a little effort you can apply pressure to the TT opening the gap at the end and use this to produce silk from you finger tips, Voila.

When i first started using the TT i was consious of this great rubber thing which did make people nothice untill i started using the eyecontact misdirection and getting the spectator(s) to look where i wanted them to.

Hello Andy - welcome to the forum and thanks for the posting. I must admit I never thought of cutting under the nail like that and it might help with silks etc. I did a swifty with a TT at the weekend, just filled it with salt, waited for a good moment over dinner, stole the TT did a few magical waves (rather comical as everyone was three parts smashed out of their heads on the wine!) and let the salt pour into the other hand. The misdirection bit is important and by simply looking at the innocent hand everyone's eyes follow your gaze. A bit of pointing in the 'wrong' direction helps a lot. The amount of salt seems small when filling the TT but it's much more impressive when you pour it into the other hand - goes all over the place!

Yeah, i done a similar thing at a friends wedding last weekend, but instead of using salt i used the small stars and sliver glitter hearts which were spread across all of the tables. I also hand my invitation with me, so i show'd the bride and groom the trick where you roll up ann empty piece of paper and pour something out using the TT and and the wedding invitation with the glitter from the tables. It had a much beter reaction and i think it was because everything which i held or produced was asosciated with their wedding day. Its just great when the magic can knit into an occasion. Never the less i got bought lots of drinks and woke up the next day with a set of curtain tie-backs, now that was magic.

Nioce one! However if you're going to post a reply, do it properly - what colour were the tie backs? And did they have those nice frilly knots on the end?

It's a bit like traffic cones really, I have about 8 in my garage which I found over a period of time in the back garden. I have no idea where they came from and I really have no use for them but they're mine, all mine.....y'hear!

No really there is a use for personal trafic cones, if yout parked on double yellow lines in yr car and dont fancy a parking fine, just put the cones around your car. You'll be suprised how the warden ignores your parking offense because the cones make them think it police business. He hE hE hE.
