seems that since the previous post on ageing the HK, everyone's taken to burrying theirs

I've not had mine in the ground for some time (not really a need to now) but I may be tempted to put it back so that I can appear to have found it when I next have a BBQ and then make it look totally impromptu

If you can try and slow it on the rollover as this will seem even weirder to the speccy, the game with the key is to get it going as slow as possible, especially as it does the down.

Not a bad performance m8, but I agree with the above 100%
Try and control the turn more, especially as it's about to drop. With practice you can get the key to turn alot slower and it looks alot spookier if it doesn't just flop over, once it's on it's downward move

2 things:

1. The key is supposedly haunted, and as mentioned, moves via 'mysterious power'. For me, part of the effect's strength is the suspense as the spectator is staring at the key in your palm, waiting.

2. A mistake which I see made quite often with this effect is the hesitation and repositioning of the key in the palm. You should practice the effect to an extent that you place the key in optimum orientation without hesitation—otherwise, something looks a little suspicious.

Overall, it's a powerful effect, but like all 'pocket miracles' it should be played down and let the EFFECT do the hard work... I noticed you showing the solidity of the key by banging it etc... personally, I don't like this approach as usually overstated proof is a sign of guilt. Which in this case isn't true, as the key is 100% examinable.

okey dokey fingers to striaght look at your hand when in a normal position its slightly bowl shaped, now see what happens when you slightly bend your fingers inward you'll soon get the picture.

secondly place your other hand underneath the control hand, start at the finger tips and gesture towards the thumb like you would if you were using a bit of thread this adds to the deception.

don't try to turn the key but instead visualise turning it and let the keys mechanics do the work for you, think pendulum dowsing.

two best methods for presenting this effect are tying an "IT" to the key runniong it over your index finger and winding it up with your fingers.
palming an invisible magnet and pulling it over, ive also used a crystal in place of the magnet and had the audience to charge the crystal by cupping it in there hands in true uri geller fashion.

I somehow managed to bend the centre fork towards the outside one. As it is a straight on bend, rather than sideways, it hasn't affected the working of it at all.

One big plus that I found with this by accident. Someone challanged me to do it with their key, but I refused, saying look, I have bent my key, I don't want to take the chance of doing the same to yours. The fact it is slightly bent also makes it seem more genuine. Might try to bury it though!

Darrel... you can do an impromptu ungimmicked version of the Haunted Key. I still haven't got round to ordering the Haunted Key yet, so I use the one I had made for me at a locksmiths. Cost me £2 and works beautifully...
