Do the rules only apply to closeup, card, money and mentalism?

Seems that as I don't fall into any of those, I haven't got a chance of my posts being "noticed". If the Mods are more interested in other kinds of magic than I perform, they aren't likely to read or think about them too much.

" It is unlikely that less than 3 months or 100 posts will get you in."

I have been here 4 months and posted nearly 180 times.

Before you come up with the fact that people post just to get their numbers up, or that the number doesn't matter, please note I HAVE'NT posted for the sake of it.

I know this is destined for the Sin Bin, and I have no chance of getting access because of asking, but if I haven't proved I am not a secret grabber by now, then I have no chance of getting in anyway.

I do know what is in secret sections and that I won;t find "the Holy Grail" there, but there are some things I want to ask, which I can'd do on an open forum.

Why don't I PM someone?

I'm glad you asked me that.

1, If I PM'd a Mod, I would get the same answer, " Don't ask because you wont get in.

2, If I have a question and ask by PM, then it wont appear on the boards, which means it still wont look as if I have posted much.

Sorry how it sounds, but it is out of sheer frustration that so much seems to depend on whether you do the "popular" types of magic, eg cards, rather than anything nearer the fringes. Again, it is a question out of frustration, not a rant, though it comes across as one.

I will say Sin Bin before anyone else can.

Note to Siege, I did think if I was posting just to get a reaction, but it is a genuine point I am asking about.

Sorry and thanks.

Theres alot of people still waiting to get access, the mods have alot to take care of TM isnt their whole world - and even within TM theres alot for them to do. From what ive read around the forum, before they give you access they check back over all the posts you've made, to see if they're quality posts or junk ( I havnt looked at yours so im not criticising you there ) that of course takes time. obviously they dont take kindly to people asking for access, so to get noticed by them I would imagine you would need to make at least a few posts that grab their attention, proving you have something to contribute in that section of the forum, not just wanting access so you can ask for help but also to give it.
Being helpful in general, posting good and useful reviews for example are also criteria I believe.
hope that helps somewhat. No doubt one of the mods will be along shortly to fill you in better on this.

It's all very well to make posts to try to grab their intention, what I am saying, is that if they aren't interested in that kind of magic, do they bother to read them? Not a criticism, just a question.
There are people in there that have joine a couple of months after me, but they post topics relevant to what the Mods do. It is quite a card based forum, so these are more likely to be noticed.

Childrens magic. I am also intereted in other types, but not got the skills to start new threads, unless they were all "how to" ones. Not the sort I want to keep doing. You have proved my point in a way, as you didn't know what magic I was into. You skip past the subjects which don't interest you, which we all do. If mods do the same though, it means that you can post as many times as you like about that subject, but they wont know.

About time a Mod came al;ong and locked this, but hopefully they will take it in the way it is intended.
