It's not totally angle-proof, but the angles are so wide that unless you're doing it for a bunch of people all around you, no one would see the gimmick. Also, the gimmick is "skin" color, so if they catch a glimpse, they won't think twice about it. If I said too much, please edit this post, mods.

Some of my opinions on this effect -
It is angle proof as long as you keep your palms hidden. I must have a different version from other posters, because mine is not flesh colored. Mine is silver, and its never been spotted.

As for the difficulty of bending coins, I had to practice a bit to find the best way to hold on for an easy bend. Now that I have the hang of it, I don't have any trouble folding a large or small coin. When I do this trick, it looks like I'm folding a coin over with my finger tips. Pretty cool.

If you use this trick with short sleeves, the downside will be that you can't hide the gimmicks automatically (in the same way you'd hide a Raven).

I always end up with very noticable indentations on the coins I bend. This is the only downside I see to this trick.

On the ellusionist website Jonathan Bayme performs this using his index fingers. I cant see the gimmick ANYWHERE and his hands are completely open.

I have just got this morning the superman coin bend and I cant see how to make it as smooth as that. Any tips??

I don't have it so maybe I'm wrong (it looks cool, so I've been concidering buying one) but I think the coin is usually bent much earlier than most realize. Most people I see take the coin, talk for two three seconds with their hands down and then push up their sleeve to act like they are getting ready to bend the coin but are actually getting "clean" the coin is already bent. Holding it in two fingers just covers the fact until you wish to reveal it. You could do the same in short sleeves by wipe sweat off our hands on your pants (near your back pockets...) just an idea.

My main concern is that many posters comment that it leaves contact marks in the coin. Is this always the case? Is this unavoidable?

There is not that much of a noticable mark on the coin, unless you bend the coin too far, in which case marks do show quite boldly. Also, if you use a bigger coin, such as a 2p, the coin doesnt bend as smoothly as hoped and, in my opinion, doesnt seem as good. Best coin probably a 1p coin.

Yeah I've noticed this. I am not a fan of this trick at all.

Maybe I'm just weak but it seems like if you want a good bend you have to endure massive pain to your hands, or be a man of steel, and I'm a bit of weed so...

Yeah, but the Bobo switch can't be done with a signed coin, that's the real selling point. But it still seems on the expensive side.

It seems like you have to learn how far is too far to bend it.

I find that if you bend it far enough that it fits quite smoothly around your thumb the marks on the coin dont seem to appear. By this i mean so that the two end of the coin are bent to about 30 degrees from flat. if you then hold the coin on the pad of your thumb, it will fit fairly smoothly. Unless you have super large or small thumbs that is!

Did that make sense?

this effect is a beutiful idea, but i too find it bloody fiddly getting into position to the gimmick have tried a few things i will now practise other methods mentioned. 10p coins are not practical for me, 1p are the best to use and actually makes you look stronger as the coin is so much smaller than a 10p.
