They say that the card can be handed out for examination after? Can anyone verify this? As far as I know, with traditional cigertte through card tricks, you can't hand the card out for inspection after!

You can probably hand just about "anything" out for examination if the situation is appropriate and you find yourself comfortable/able to do it... just think about it.

Just so happens that specific website used a marketing ploy to highlight that simple fact.

Actually, no they didn't. There's no ploy there. You can do exactly that once you know how to do the effect.
