Magic for sales presentations

Postby n9urk » Jul 30th, '06, 16:22

HI All,

In my other post I describe how I am new to magic. In this post I will describe why and ask a few questions.

I am learning magic mainly for sales presentations (so I can take the D'lite and say something like "All this talk is making me lightheaded" if things get off track).

I have used the TT several times as an attention grabber and it works wonders.

If they start talking about my tricks I say something like: "These here are tricks that have no comparison to the magic that is performed to service your account".

Also, I am trying to weed out any cranky/difficult clients. I think the jovial nature of the tricks will do that as one lady wanted us to do something for her and when I showed her the tricks she asked me if I was a Jehova's Witness (whatever).

What kinds of tricks do any of you all do during sales presentations?

How well do they usually work?

How many magicians (in relative terms) start by doing tricks for sales presentations and then become performers? I have met one here in town that did exactly that.

Thanks

You need the trade show version of Storm Force 7 by Martin Sanderson. Instructions are on his new DVD called "The Business". Most Magic shops have this or get from Martin Direct at www.sanderson-magic.com

""These here are tricks that have no comparison to the magic that is performed to service your account". "

And the baby Jesus wept.

Excellent idea though.
