Wich RRTCM version would you buy if you could only buy one of these two?

My front cover doesnt look like any of those..

Anyway, I voted for Book as you get so much more material for a cheaper price. I like the fact you can take the books anywhere with you.

But I would also recommend Born To Perform as someone else in this thread mentioned. Great DVD wwith 4 great routines, and you get to see them in action.

However there is a downside, some people start to take the characterisitc of the performer and become a "clone". But if you buy a book, you will find your own presentation that reflects your personality.

the poll does not really mean much as the dvd's are a study guide to the book, and as such are not designed to be used on their own.

cheers'

I can't really add much apart form I opted to get both the Book and DVD as they work well together! The DVD's are really good quality and help you to see the tricks in action, and makes the book so much easier to understand. Using both together will vastly speed up your learning curve.

I made my wife dissapear just by arguing with her!!!

mmmm this brings up somthing I have been thinking about recently.

I Have always recomended RRTCM for learning cards, it is such good value for money, and the step by step approach learning effects at each stage is perfect.

The R.Paul Wilson dvd is also the perfect companion, study of the book is essential! Providing an enhancment to the study and learning.

However, the book and dvd together are going to set a newcomer back around £70, ( a little bit less here and there but not much).

If this sort of investment is being considered, I think that the 'Card College' books are the way to go. This doesn't detract from RRTCM, CC actually uses the same approach, and credits Hugard and Braue for this.

I believe CC is now the best way to learn but have thought its price might be prohibative for an absolute beginer. Not so sure now.... thoughts anyone?

Cheers,
John

Well if you say that for the same price you can have: Book + Dvd's or a set of books. I would go for the book and those dvds. Sound better..
