This depends on the venue or function. Sometimes i have a tux, other times i have a nice coloured suit. I rarely wear jeans but that is down to each person to decide.

Some my of clothes come from here

Intriguing thread (sorry, pun not intended!) - I've always figured that if someone goes to the trouble to look the part then they'll probably be that much better at it. Wearing 'stage' clothes or at least appropriate clothes ought to mean the performer is in the mind set of being a performer and do the job with a little more style, 'oomph' and pizzazz. Also, having the right number of pockets with perhaps a few hidden extra ones will help. I've also reckoned that using the 'proper' props, or at least good quality props helps set the scene. Of course, I could be wrong - Mrs. M tells all about that.....regularly…. :(

having recently started working in restaurants i went with my standard clothing style, which has been all black suit since long before my interest in magic or the emergence of Derren Brown, however since last weekend when my girlfriends patience snapped and she forced me into a fairly stylish purple shirt, black trouser, cream linen jacket combo, still tasteful and stylish but less severe i have noticed i no longer get tables turning me away before i start. Not really an answer to your question but an interesting point on the topic.
