Hi Matt. What sort of stuff are you in to?

Cards. Working through the royal road - I've sort of got most of the basics down in a rudimentary way and I'm going to work through it again to polish it up a bit before trying to advance with the cards.

Beginning to take a look at the Corinda book on Mentalism.

I'm also very eager to develop my presentation in a natural way around the magic. I've read stuff about this and the advice being that it comes from youself rather than being found in books or DVDs. It seems to me that it is good to develop my own presentation/character from these early steps. What do others think about this? Advice? Should I look at any other posts about this topic?

I'm a teacher of RE in a secondary school.

Welcome to TM! Good to hear that you are starting with all of the recommended materials - RRTCM, Corinda etc. and that you have the right presentation towards magic. There are many works on developing character, and quite a few topics on it on TM I am sure, but one book of mine which has been well-thumbed is Henning Nelm's Magic and Showmanship - a great read and a great book too.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try and find that.
