Best finger-clicking fire production?!

Postby BizKiTRoAcH » Aug 11th, '06, 21:45

Anyone know of a decent priced fire production gimmick?

I'm looking for this effect:
Image

preferably with a flame that big and a flame that last a few seconds if they exist

This has nothing to do with magic but I need a fire production device I can use and I know a lot of magicians use these so I figured it would be good to post here :D

The size of the device isnt a major problem.. it could be something to keep in the palm of my hand or a lighter in my other hand with a tube going under my clothes to my right hand.. I'm not too fussed as long as it cant be seen easily and it works :D

Oh, and its not a bother if its something you keep in your palm as I will be wearing the gimmick under a glove (and modifying the glove to work with the gimmick)

Is that how magicians steal flames from lighters? it looks really cool. I think its called a finger flasher and its available from www.flashmagic.co.uk. Stephen will be able to tell you more about it than I can

I checked out the ones on flashmagic and they dont look easily concealable.. maybe I'm wrong?

It doesnt necessarily have to be one that is used in the hand though as long as the flame can appear to come out of my fingers :P

Finger flashers usually are usually just used with paper or wool to give a very short bright flash of flame. If you want something to last longer then finger flashers won't be any good. There are giizmos used where flames can be produced from the slightly closed palms or from the ends of fingers. Check out things like Vernet TT Flame where
You reach out and pluck the flame from a cigarette lighter. Hold the flame between your right thumb and index finger, then you transfer it to your left fingers. Take it again with you right fingers and finally blow the flame vanishing it and showing your hands absolutely empty . Use it to light a cigarette or ignite flash paper. Blow it out then reach out and grab another flame.

http://www.dudethatscoolmagic.co.uk/aca ... ricks.html shows this (scroll down a bit) but it's out of stock at the moment. How about asking stephenmagic about this kind of thing?

That was what I was thinking of but didn't know what it was called.

Finger flashers are easy to conceal but are not what you need, things like the flaming TT or invisio torch by Jim Pace will suit you better. Yes i will be getting fire effects soon :P

in response to the OP - isn't that The Igniter, by Jim Pace?

as shown here

It looks amazing, I'd really like to see a review of it.

I got something similar but i don't think as good as what mandrake was talking about called the Electric Torch by Jim Pace from the world magic shop (not to be confused with Electric Touch)
While the production and disappearing of the flame is toataly clean, the gimmick is a bit fiddelly to set up and as far as i know (i haven't had it for too long) there is no way to repeat the flame without another set up.
I don't know the price range for other finger fire products but this one was priced at £44.85 not including shipping and you do have to be over 18 to buy it.
However it is available to buy right now, the web site is reliable and the staff are friendly
Hope this helps you out

product found at http://www.worldmagicshop.co.uk/
