IF you are new to magic than you really need a good book and not some flashy and expensive gimmick. YOUR TIME is best spent learning skills not buying the latest gadget. If you really want to buy a bizarre effect then i use www.blackhart.co.uk one of the best dealers i have ever used. I should point out that bizarre effects are just as much about presentation as they are effect. Have you the experience and skill to pull off such effects?

I have said it in many a thread before, but I recommend "The Dave Campbell Legacy" hard back magic book from International Magic in London. £35 but rammed full of effects with standard cards, a section on packet tricks that you can make up yourself, and effects you would happily pay £15 each for a ready made effect for. Oh and a section on non card magic at the back. In my 16 years in magic, the best thing I have bought by a long way.

They can spice up an existing performance but you can't be a magician just by buying a trick. Get Born to Perform, it's got way more in it than any one expensive trick would get you.

Sorry to be harsh but we've all been down this road (at least I have)! Buying gimmicks seems fun for a while but then you end up with a lot of tricks and no magic...

I agree Kati. I have a box full of tricks that I never use, maybe now and again for kids parties but thats about it. Now a £3 pack of Bikes does me juse fine :D:D

And if you don't have Born To Perform, you need to get it just for the ACR! (And thats only 1 of the amazing routines)
