I'm not, but I have just re-read it from cover to cover, ditto 13 Steps and Absolute Magic. There's something new every time, and I heartily agree with the other comments about really thinking about Gerald's post - then re-read the introduction to RRTCM (the bit about the David Devant and the neophyte)

I agree completley.

Also, Gerald, have you by any chance read absolute magic?
What you said if what I would say is Derren Brown's main point in the whole book

again i say i don't like catergorizing.
and i only asked as the first chapter was all about shuffles i could already do. and there's sleights in there that i already can do, from way back when, when i started. i no. i read the introduction where the guy says he can only do about 8, but he can do them amazingly. i no it's not about learning lots of tricks and sleights.
the few sleights that i do have, however, i feel, i have got em' down as down as i can get em. lol. :)
so i was basically asking if anyone has any recomendations on sleights in the book they like, and find useful. :)

atm I'm practicing the colour change, after learnging the hindu shuffle. which i like. alot. and the slipback, which i now have two variations of :D which adds differentiality to my routines. :)
so yeh...any suggestions? before i pick the book up again? :)

john1960uk & fireshower,
Thank you for your comments about my posts. It is good to find people that agree with me! :)

JackWright,
No, sorry I haven’t read Derren Brown's book, but I’ve heard good things about it.

Thanks again for the positive comments about the thoughts in my posts.

Warm regards,

Gerald

Tomo,

Thanks for reminding us of Devant’s famous encounter. There’s much wisdom and food for thought in just a few words.

Regards,
Gerald

There certainly is. I sometimes quote it when people ask me how many tricks I know and it sometimes gets a decent laugh, though I'm not sure why. :?
