Alan Ackermans 76 trick is one of my fave impromptu effects..along with an Acr or my own in the hands triumph usually does enough to show i kinda know what I'm doing :)

Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music. - Kristian Wilson, Nintendo, Inc, 1989..

I'll second Twins, people that know me always ask me to show it to people that haven't seen me perform. Also from the ETMCM series (vol 4 I think) is an awesome self-worker called Untouched. It can be done utterly impromtu with a borrowed and shuffled deck if necessary, and involves you selecting a card which the specs don't see. Then they deal out a pile of cards from anywhere in the deck, and split this pile into two. When they turn over the top cards of each of these piles they indicate the card you selected earlier, ie. if your card is the 10 of hearts one of the cards they turn over will be a 10 (to denote value) and the other a heart (for suit). It sounds long winded but it's not and it's virtually foolproof and embarrassingly easy.

The artist who does not rise, descends.

best impromptu card trick ...

Postby Anakin77 » Aug 19th, '06, 22:05

Ambicious card is a classic ... but there are so many tricks with regular deck. One of my most credited tricks I perform is Lennart Greens color separation of a deck shuffled by spectator, which I changed a little. And of the easier tricks - two card monte (from Oz Pearlman - Born to perform card magic). But card magic is so versatile ... best thing is to improvise ...
