The Donna Change

Postby magic_evmeister » Aug 20th, '06, 18:39

This is a colour change I came up with after a few pints in the pub earlier this week. I've never seen it before but it's probably not an original idea. I figured who better to ask than a group of accomplished magicians? But i didn't know where to find any so I thought I'd ask you lot instead (lol - only kidding!).

The Donna Change

P.S. I named it after the first person I showed it to when I came up with it (I say showed, i mean she was watching whilst i was pratting about with my cards and said "Ay...hang on...do that again!").

I was kinda confused when I watched it lol - I heard that noise it makes when someone PM's u on MSN. I looked down at the taskbar and I wasn't even signed in :? It took a confusing few seconds to figure out where the noise came from........ nice vid btw

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

also known as a "paintbrush" change

Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music. - Kristian Wilson, Nintendo, Inc, 1989..

i like this change, looks very clean....how fast can you redo the change?
two thumbs up! :)

EDIT : after playing around with the idea how it was done,i finally made it :D
good change! i used to find a spectators card which is lost in the deck, cut the pack in half and failed....then i performed the "donna/paintbrush change" to change the card to the one which has been choosen from the spectator.
I have 2 question but asking here would expose it to much..so i´ll drop you a pm if its ok?

Great change! The only thing you could possibly work on is when you make the change, the sound of the cards brushing together is a little louder. But that is very minor and probably doesn't even need to be fixed.

I know the sound is an issue in the video but in performance situations it cannot be heard. Especially as I'm used to performing in bars and at parties.

I like this because it's incredibly easy, very visual and it's reasonably angle proof.

If you rub the packet hard enough, you cannot distinguish the difference between the "norm" and the 'method'
