How to make avatar??

Postby TylerD » Aug 23rd, '06, 04:15

Ok Im trying to make an avatar. I have a pic of me fanning a deck of split spades (perfectly I might add hehe) and I saved it into pain. And to my desktop also. Now when I go to browse and try to upload it, it comes up with this ...
The avatar image file size must be less than 8 KB
So then I tried to upload a few different pics and it wont let me upload any of them either.... How do I do this lol? Im so dumb.

Yes it's very hard unless you have photoshop or something.

What you could do is paste it into word or something, resize it, then take a screen shot and crop it, then paste that into paint and save it again.

Open the image in paint, click file -> save as... select JPEG as the file type, put in a new name(don't overwrite the old one in case you need it) and click save. Then go to Image -> Stretch/Skew(or press ctrl-w) and reduce the size of the image in small percentages and saving until the resolution is below 80x80 pixels(you can check this by hovering the the mouse over the file in windows if you use XP - not sure about other versions of windows). You should then be able to upload this file. If you have any other image editing software you may be able just to resize it directly to 80x80, but that depends on what you have...
