royal road to card magic is better in my opinion.

ptf is good, but there are much better books and dvds.

RRTCM is good but the my opinion, fwiw, is that learning the basic moves from a DVD is better as you can see how they are supposed to look. For example, try learning d/ls from a book. I don't think it would look right.

I agree, though, that if you know what the basic moves are and how to do them then a book is much better because of the better and greater quantities of content.
