Advice on a bill in lemon

Postby damylim » Aug 25th, '06, 20:29

Hi, I am looking for a bill in lemon, but I have been unable to decide on which one to get... so many choices out there... Ultimately, I think I would like to get one with these features:

1. Uses a signed bill.
2. Lemon (or other fruit) is fully examinable before and after it is cut. (without any switches)
3. The bill is really convincingly inside the lemon.
4. Can be cut by the spectator. (if possible. This feature is optional, but of course I would prefer it if it can be done)

Can anyone recommend one that has all these features? Is this even possible without a special knife? And what do you think of those special knives? Are they any good? I already have one that uses the torn corner principle, but would really like the bill signed instead... Thanks, would really appreciate it.

I'm sure someone will have an answer, but in the meantime, how is this "Magician's shows, chat about specific magicians etc.."? :? Please read the descriptions of the area you're posting in, or people will be less inclined to help and might even react pretty badly.

No worries, 'tis moved!

My only experience of this is with one of the bill in lemon knives. The prop was good, but i never really performed it; there were definate limitations in that the bill had to be folded very specifically, and, though its purpose was to use a signed note, it would probably have been easier to use a geniune knife and a little S of H rather than the BIL knife.

If you want a really strong routine then i would look at getting the Martin Sanderson DVD "Corporate Close Up Magic". It has a very good bill in kiwi effect on it. Also the Doug Maloney DVD has a great bill in lemon. Not too keen on the knives myself but some people like them.

You appeared to double post this thread and I answered the other one. However, it appears that mose are now answering this one.

There isn't a bill in Lemon that meets all of your criteria. I totally afree with the recommendations made by Stephenmagic, particularly the Martin Sanderson DVD which I think is one of the cleanest and the teaching is very good.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

I could think of a method that might fulfill three out of four of your criteria using a Guy Hollingworth method (Drawing Room Deceptions), although the lemon probably wouldn't be able to be fully inspected before it has been cut.

I think I have narrowed it down to 2 choices:

1. Doc Eason's method
2. Yigal Mesika's signed bill in lemon

Does anyone have any comments or advice?
