Raven Help

Postby popcorn » Aug 25th, '06, 19:30

Hello, I'm having trouble with an element of the raven... If anyone with good knowledge of the trick could post here, and I could email you with my specific problem that would be brilliant. Thanks a lot.

Hi,
I generally pm people back with that same advice but there are so many people who have the same probleme that I think I should leave it here on the forum. Advice has been edited to remove exposure

2 things to consider:
1: Try to wear loose sleeves (OBVIOUS! so I'll skip to the second one)
2: I think that the probleme you have is that the raven has a hard time getting back in your shirt right? To help this, I would suggest this:
When you vanish the coin and pull back the raven, you will also have a problem covering the sound of it getting back in your sleeve right? You can solve those two problem with one simple motion. Don't hurry to hide the Raven! Take your time! Some newcomers to the raven want to make it dissapear as soon as they fetch the coin, but don't! Spectators will generally look close at their hand briefly after the vanish, so you can relax a bit, act natural, and when they start to recover from their disbelief, it's time to make the raven dissappear. Pull your raven back just a second before turning your hand to show them empty. Why you might ask? Because the sound of the raven getting back will be covered by the sound of the fabric of your sleeves turning up to show your hand. Both sound will be confused and the spectator will naturally assume that they've heard a normal sound. Now, why do I tell you this? Well getting the raven back in the sleeve can be tough and might require some arm shaking sometimes (right? ). Well turning up your hand gives you the perfect timing to shake that raven back in. Simply play it like you are shaking your hand to show they are empty!
And voilà! This should help you manipulating your raven, pm me back
