Billet Pencil or knife

Postby Durto » Aug 28th, '06, 15:34

Hi everyone!
Having read 13 steps and now really took the way toward mentalism, I've started to do a few prediction effects. They are mostly based on misdirection and switch and turn out to work quite well. Still, I would like to be able to perform a much cleaner act, especially for gigs. That is why I am now searching the web, seeking for a billet pencil of knife. I haven't got much result back (one or two sites...) and would like to know if you could point me some great mentalist site out.
Thanks!

I fear that the magic props featured in that and other books are rather much a thing of the past e.g. difficult to find and typically expensive when found. There are some "poor man's" versions to be found in the works of Guy Bavli and Ted Lesley I believe but the truth of the matter is, there are many alternatives available to you that are far superior on multiple levels.

My first suggestion would be to find my sticky post around here about what you need to study when it comes to mentalism and becoming a solid, well rounded student of mentalism. I would then suggest you visit this site http://mastermindreader.com/ and not only study what Bob offers for free (like his thirty some odd steps to developing solid mentalism) But buy everything you can by Bob starting with the FUNDAMENTALS series and the PRINCIPALIA (sp) then look at THEORIES & METHODS FOR THE PRACTICAL PSYCHIC followed by THE REAL WORK OF COLD READING. Bob has a ton of stuff on Billet work but don't put the cart before the horse; learn about doing mentalism and creating your character first, it's far more important than the tricks.

Ok... I'm not going to outline the business side of things but I will point out that doing "Predictions" or "Readings" requires you to have the ability to think on your feet and feed your public solid, applicable details. For no other reason I'll tell you to start off with Richard Webster's books (http://www.psychic.co.nz/) QUICK READING WITH NUMEROLOGY, PSYCHOMETRY FROM A-Z, COLD READING VARIATIONS, and ASTROLOGY FOR THE PSYCHIC ENTERTAINER these will give you a decent foundation to work with and more important, tools by which to garner added income. While you are at it, you might even want to take a look at http://www.mevproshop.com/index.html in that my current offerings are being well recieved and might just lend to you the kind of edge you are looking for when it comes to Hitting the Headlines.

Best of luck!

Craig, your sticky lead me to 13 steps and learned me the true value of books, so don't worry about me studying the art of mentalism
Still, thanks for the advertisOOPS I mean advice;), I think I'll take it from here... And I'll have to forget about the pencil :(
