Hi there.
A friend of mine is directing an amateur theatre group this coming winter - and the play is the story of Pinoccio. He was asking me for any advice on how he should solve the expanding nose in the most spectacular way.
In the play, there is one scene where Pinoccio has to tell a fib 4 times. That means his nose has to expand 4 times too, but it has to be visible from the audience.
Any ideas?

air pump and some type of long balloon. something along that line would work.

Not according to the story, only his nose grows.

cover the balloon with some fabric that grows with it. and have that attached around the head or ears. and tape the balloon to the pumps hose so that it wont fly off to easy no deflate. the whole contraption can look wierd, but if done properly should be arlight. it wont look to real, but its comedy, it will get a laugh.

( i work in theater, so i do this kind of stuff alot. if you want i can draw up a rough idea, and you can take it from there)
