I'm pretty much a newbie here so please be gentle! I'm 25 and live in South London, England.

I've always been interested in magic, mainly because it's always fascinated me how people can misdirect and use sleights of hand to create an unbelievable trick.

I've not got a lot of experience and have really only been learning tricks for about 4 months or so after I found the ellusionist site. Since then, the credit card's taken a major caning and i've been trying to learn all I can! I don't really perform to anyone except a couple of mates and my daughter. It seems you get the best reaction from kids who really do accept that magic is possible (she still believes in fairies!)

I love coin magic for the fact that it can be performed anywhere with all that you have in your pocket. I heard that Bobo's Modern Coin Magic is a must buy so have ordered this and plan to lock myself away to practice as much as I can.

I guess I signed up here to get a bit of support and advice from anyone who's willing to help me along the way! Where am I best to start and how do I perfect the basics?

Hi Montana, Bobo's is an excellent start but also look out for things like Mark Wilson's Encyclopaedia and other books of varied magic - even those written for kids! There's usually a section or at least a routine or two on coins and you can add to your repertoire at very low cost that way.
