Hello all, my name is Michael and I live in Belfast. I am new to magic and have only been practising for a few months. I have an idea for a trick that I have been working on and I was wondering if anyone else had been doing it so far from searchin on the internet I havent found it so I would appreciate if a moderator could get in touch with me as i dont want to give much away here. I would appreciate any responce as soon as possible.

Thank you
Michael.

Welcome

What KIND of trick is it? card - coin?

you want to get feedback from someone who's experienced and knowledgeable in the specific area that your trick falls into

Sorry to be very vauge but it is more a comedy magic effect and not the best either ive decided to forget about it because there were not many ways you could fit it into a routine. Sorry to have wasted anyones time. I do mostly card magic and recently ordered De Souzas deceptions (sorry if I spelt his name wrong) and cant wait to get it. I have been interested in both comedy and magic for some time now though i have only recently discovered the magic part. If anyone knows of good comedy magic and where to purchase it i would be grateful.

Again sorry to have wasted anyones time and i doubt anyone but me would want a trick toaster.

I love the mixture of comedy and magic. Jay Sankey is dynamite in combining this and I'm sure a lot more.

It's also funny that you mention a toaster, because last year I saw a great comedy-mime-juggling-magic show called The Sneedles

Image Image
They are Wolfe Bowart and Bill Robison and in their show they manage to combine Buster Keaton, Monty Python, Houdini and Ring Circus into a great show. AND... in one of their acts, one of them throws slices of bread from a distance and the other one catches them with a toaster. Then they threw some slices to the audience which threw them back, to be caught in the toaster :D
More pictures here
Here is a video that shows some of their juggling

The effect I was working on was to put untoasted bread into the toaster which appears broken cause the toast wont stay down, then I notice that the toast colour indicator (i cant think of any other name for it) was set to white so i change it to dark and pull the handle down again with and then the bread immediatley pops up again but toasted to perfection. Thank you for the info on the comedy magic I really like Jay Shankey and I think I will learn a lot from his style/methods/patter. Ordered Revolutionary coin magic but cant seem to find his card magic any where?

anyway cheers for the tips
Mick

Sankey does lots and lots of card magic...if you're an intermediate card magician try Rev. Card Magic (not got it but I hear that it's good)...
