Matchbox magic

Postby PickAnyCard » Sep 2nd, '06, 12:08

Hi all.

I have come up with a trick.
Just wanted to know if this is a good trick and some points.
The effect is very simple:
The magician shows 2 matchboxes, empty or with matches inside them.
Under 1 of this matchboxes is a X drawn mark. The spectator job is to mix arround both matchboxes on the table and put a sheet of paper over them when ready (so the magician dont see the matchboxes), this all happens when the magician is turned away. When the spec is done, the magician turns around and, without any funny moves, he points out the X marked box. And so it goes on...

Now thats the basic. Here is some info.

-Spectator can check both matchboxes before and after
-You can even make a prediction note, that tells how many times you got right and wrong when guessing the X marked box
-Can be done sorruonded
-No assistans, mirrors

Sounds pretty good to me, if both are examinable (as you say), and it can be done repeatedly, must be good.

Could you put something other than a sheet of paper over them, for impromptu reasons, (say if you where down the pub, could you use beer mats?)

Make up a patter/theme for it, and it's ready :D

Yes you can use beer mats, paper, something that covers the boxes. I havnt set up any specific patter, only that I will state that Iam gonna find out which is the X marked box. The trick is genius build, as I have done a reversing thing to a typical thing in magic... generell so as speak.
