Marvins 50 Amazing Pub Tricks

Postby killerfroggy » Sep 6th, '06, 15:56

First off i was was given this as a gift and didnt actually spend my own money on it but heres a review anyway.

Cost around 15 pounds in a bulk retail high street store.

Effects include:
magic cocktail stick
trick cards
top secret sachet
fly in icecube

Review: Ok I am completly glad i didnt waste any of my money on this piece of tat. There is seriously not one effect in this can I would use ever. The fly in icecube is terribly made, I've seen more convincing pieces of fluff. The impossibottle gimmick is far to easily noticable even in a dimly lit pub. The "silk" handkerchief is not silk and is of the worst quality ever, you can spit through it. The rest of the book is devoted to match / coin puzzles that my mates 6 year nephew could (and did for most of them) work out. I dont want to say much about the TOP SECRET item apart from unless you have hands the size of the incredible hulk it will be of little use to you what-so-ever(though mindbender gave me an idea of a use for it but not as its meant to be used anyone who has seen the dvd will know what I mean). The cocktail stick comes in handy to stir cocktails too.

In conclusion avoid like the plague.

I personaly hate most of marvins products as they are for people who want to do magic but not want to put in effort or learn anything.

To the magic community, Marvins Magic, is pretty shabby. I personally hate the brand, although marvin berglas is quite coool.

The stuff that you get from MM is extremely easy to do, and misleads people into thinking that all magic is easy.

I can garunte that a magician complaining about an effect, because it is difficult, or requires practice, started out with Marvins Magic.

Erm i agree with the marvins stuff bit simple, but there stripper decks and svengali decks, are better than everybody elses i brought a stripper deck from marvin magic they were great then it got lost so i brought one from Nums and Nums arent to blame but the quality of the deck was (not good), you could tell that they were (gaffed).

international magic has a stripper deck which is printed like that so it is not hand made therefor it is very good quality and undetectable.
