Pitto wrote:and in England our smallest note is £5--->£10---> ---->£20 and hardly anyone has a £50 and if they did that's & £85 and the patter for the end then doesn't really work AND for those in the USA £85 is (roughly) $160-$170 which is a lot for one trick.

If I 'get' the trick correctly you don't have to use a 50. I was thinking that if I did get it I could start with a piece of paper, write £5 on it, and change it into a fiver >> tenner >> twenty >> 50p.

I checked out the Bank of England website for the note sizes:
  • £5 - 135mm x 70mm
  • £10 - 142mm x 75mm
  • £20 - 149mm x 80mm
  • £50 - 156mm x 85mm

So it's not really practical to try to trim the note. Seems to me the only way to do it would be to scan in the notes and scale them to the same size. I think (think) that if you don't print the back then it's not forgery but I don't know about that.

While it may be illegal, I dont think you'll be arrested for printing fake money for a magic trick. You arent selling the notes or trying to spend them so it wouldnt be a problem.

As you know, I wasn't a huge fan of the Garica Projects. But this trick is really good.
I got it without knowing if I can use it with Turkish currency, and I'm glad I had this. I need to re-size even re-design the gimmick (also need to change the handling) for the Turkish currency but it's worth it. I used black & wihte copies of Turkish currencies for testing the trick, but I don't know where to find the money to construct the gimmick now. It's illegal to destroy money in Turkey, I need to print some real-looking money. :(

ps: I need to spend only a 24$ worth of Turkish Liras, but it's still a lot.. :)

I noticed in the preview video for Greed on Penguin Magic and saw him ask the person if they want to look at the $20 that he just changed from a $10? Is that possible in the trick?

I also have another question. If I wanted to use the bills that you use for later, are they easy to ungimmick them?

It is not easy but can be done. But you don't want to do that, effect is really good.

So has anyone actually bought this and successfully used UK notes to construct the gimmick? If not, I might just get some dollars and make it up - say it was given to me by an American leprechaun or something (George Bush?)

Not possible for them to examine, but possible to ask v.i.a. his presentation.

The trick only costs $7

You only use pieces of the 10 and 20

If you have 51% or more of a dollar you can take it to the bank and exchange it for a whole dollar.
