making an ID...question

Postby magicmonkey » Sep 8th, '06, 11:44

Hi,
mods please delete if exposing, however I would like to check something before I wreck a pack of cards. I will be as careful as possible.
Please reply in pm if your responces are bordering on exposure.

I am making up an ID.
I ordered R******* S****.
I was sent Dull cote Flat laquer overcoat spray.
Same stuff?
gives same results?

Before I get flamed, I do own a bought ID, I just wanted to apply this to ghosts and tigers etc but keep the cost down.

Thanks for any help you guys can give me

When you order roughing spray that's generally what you get. I think that matt lacquer has become synonymous with 'roughing spray'. I (and many others) would recommend roughing fluid over spray every time though. But, having said that, I decided long ago that making IDs was just not worth the time or hassle and that the cost of a dealer-made one is money well spent.

cheers charles.
I was just going to buy them, but I am getting a fair few different decks now and I guess it's more versatile if I can make my own decks consistently so I can have a matching ID for each deck, even if they don't make them at suppliers.

I agree with Charles in that it's not worth the time in making one up with a red or blue deck. However, I've made a few with Tigers, Ghosts and green back decks where they;re either much more expensive or you can't buy them anyway (green & black backed Bikes exspecially).

My own preferred method is to spray rather than using fluid but you do need a well ventilated space and lots of newspaper (and no wind if you;re doing it in the garden  )

THis is one of those topics where everyone will have a different method etc.
