Hey all!
I searched through the threads, but didn't find anything on this topic.
A good friend of mine is a professional magician, doing all kinds of shows, including birthday parties and corporite functions. Too often he has been in need of a table or a stand, he could just fold and bring with him. How do you do it, other magicians that drop in to make magic almost anywhere?

I use a keyboard stand with a nice piece of wood and have a servante that is made like a table cloth over it plus a close up matt on top.

I usually also have one of those bags (that you wear on your side) hanging behind the cloth underneath the table.

It does the job nicely and is fairly portable.

I would love one of the propper magicians cases but at moment, i dont have enough money and would rather buy tricks etc first!

I usually make sure there is some sort of table where I'm about to perform, but just in case I have 2 plastic folding tables (with crossed folding legs.. cost me about 20$ for the pair). A nice black table-cloth and it does the job, and packs very flat and light.

They also can be good for close up, but I don't do much close up any way, so I use them mostly for placing things in my kids show (the 2 tables + my small suitcase on chair and I am pretty much ready to perform).

I guess you can find them in any home depot store on the garden furniture section.

Michael Ammar suggests using the legs and stem from a low price music stand but fit a picture frame as the table top. Replace the glass with plywood, a lick of paint and you have a very portable and low cost item. You can add servantes and probably introduce some black art features if you're the handy sort.

the music frame alone costs about £15 then on top: wood nailes time

and the table is well made pre built for you with the hole for the black art already cut out and for only about £20

+ it can be prodduced from behind a newspaper
