How do explain the fact that it's also travelled to the other packet of 10 though? Travelled AND multiplied?

OK, I can't stand it!

It's making me twitchy reading all the 'what if 2 cards, what if 2 or more speccys'...

Here's some hints for you:
1. Timing
2. Direction
3. Pressure

Apply these in varying quantities, and you won't have the situation arise, trust me.

I took the advice and tried it out on a group and yes one other person within the group thought of a different card to the person who was involved in the performance.
Once the effect was finished the fact that that that other persons card had moved to seemed to add to it and there was looks of amused puzzlement all around. So all that worrying for nowt.

The jist of it is, as seige has said, it all comes down to performance and it is a fantastic effect.

Admittedly, I was anxious when i first discovered the gimmick and perceived some of the 'casual' handling in the trick to be a bit suspect. However, the first performance of this trick re-assured me that if you handle, as siege pointed out, the timing and direction correctly, then a fantastic effect and reaction ensues. Not counting the 10 cards to the viewer thoroughly in front of their eyes does not hinder the effect.

I have not yet performed the trick to more than 1 person at a time as i need more practice, but i am more than delighted with the effects and reaction so far. Everyone is speechless as to how this quick, smooth, and well-valued trick works.

Well, its just over 3 months since i wrote this review, and istill stand by everything i said. Since then i have performed it for many a spectator and never have i had anybody get suspicious about anything!

I still perform it the same basic way as described in the booklet, but with my extra little bit on the side (dancing, laughing, falling over, etc.......its how i perform, it works! ...but then again, im crazy!).

One thing i dont do as much is take the cards out of the wallet in 2 seperate packets. I tend to just keep them all together and, after memorising my system, count the cards from there. Dont think it adds or subtracts from the reactions, just feels better to perform IMO.

i keep them ready in the deck always. perform other tricks and then go into this.
as for the count i mentioned this before. i perform this standing but still use a variation of the tabled count into my own hands. once again if anyone has this and wants to know my streamlined handling, feel free to pm me and ask if you own the effect

I bought this on the strength of the original review and am in no way disappointed. Mine only arrived on Friday but I had the routine off well enough to try out on my wife within an hour. The handling is straightforward and I don't think that it is open being spotted easilly, especially if you put enough emphasis on the pack you are not "handling". IMHO it is a great trick, I can see the possibility of a spectator spotting a different card to the one chosen but that just adds to the mystery. I first came across this effect as a computer puzzle a couple of years ago and thought it was pretty clever then. As a card trick it really stands out for me and it is one I am sure I will be using for a long time.

I do like this effect, does baffle them.
I just bring out the 20 cards show they are 20 and all different. Count and fan.

I then just then give them 'half' and when i fan mine I just say, 'of my 10 cards I want you to mentally choose one.' They count the 10 and presume they have the other 10 of the inital 20.

You want to put empasis on fundamentals of the tricks but not make it too blatent.

Great trick and I would recommend.

Saw this performed in Covent Garden today and just had to have one.

I like the version with the deck of cards, which looks more natural to me. A version of this effect has been quite popular as a web effect, where you see a selection of cards on the web, you think of one, push the button, and the one you thought of vanishes!

I am pleased to have got this and look forward to working it into the act soon!

I was working through this effect last night and came with an alternative handling that is more natural and leads to a perfect reset for restaurant and bar work. If you have this, PM me for more details.

There is another variation of this trick called brainless travelers.It's almost the same trick(same concept)but it's done without gaffed cards. you might want to pick this up.

Bananafish and I have discussed a better working of this effect with the deck version that makes it brilliant for walk around. PM me if you like.

Also, Synergy is a nice variant that goes down well. It is done with two packets of cards dealt out by the spectator and chosen by the spectator. They choose one card from one pack, which is placed in the performer's pocket. They memorise one card from the other pack and its position. The position is counted and the card is not there. It is in the performer's pocket!
