Postby fender91 » Sep 12th, '06, 16:55

heloo everyone,

can someone help me, i want to record some tricks and stuff with my webcam (logitech) but whenever i press the record button t says

"The program you are trying to run requires a current Indeo codec.
To obtain a current driver that is compatible with this version of Windows, please contact the manufacturer at http://indeo.ligos.com."

can someone please tell me what this means or what i have to,
thankyou

indeo codec was included up to windows me but due to licensing issues is not included with windows xp upwards.

how to get around it well you can download free codec packs which include the indeo codec (not sure on licensing regs), just do a search for ideo codec + free and see whats still avalable. :?:

Dude, when did you get the webcam? Try and return it and get a Creative. Creative have an amazing help desk and the webcams are guaranteed to work on your computer, i use one. They have them from all price ranges, the more expensive ones are absolutely amazing. I have one of the cheaper ones and thats still amazing! COmes with all the software you ened too.

did you uninstall the software... install the codec then reenstall the camera software so it can see the codec. :?:

have you also got the latest direct x drivers and patches from the logitec website and poped into windows update to check for latest patch.

Yeah, i'd always listen to him before me :D I didn't think of actually reinstalling the webcam software as i thought that was what you had tried. It should work after doing that then.
