Ok... I was going to give you a general lecture on things but I'm just too tired to go there...
There must be at least a dozen variants to the Grissmer anagram idea, including the controversial version published by Waters in Mind, Myth & Magic as well as custom tailored versions you can create for yourself via the PANAGRAM software available through the UK based UNDERGROUND COLLECTIVE group. There are likewise a couple of "advancements" to this method such as SENSORY PROJECTION (also from the Underground Collective) and Daniel Love's DREAM SIGNS which lend significant refinement to the principle.
Long story short... if you are having complications with Steve's version look at what else may be available. Sadly, I'm not that familiar with his methods or approach and don't have that material accessible at the moment to review and better assist you. However, it really can't be that significantly different than the other approaches that have been released over the years e.g. I'd look around. Besides, having more than a couple of ways of approaching this particular piece is a very wise thing to do if you want to avoid tipping your approach via repeat demonstrations.
