Powdering my cards the other day, and when riffle shuffling them, I noticed it produced a great puff of smoke.

Realise that the smell of taucum powder might give away the method a little, but anyone had/has any thoughts on how to incorporate this into an effect? Could give some what of an ancient effect - dust flying off cards.

Also - noticed that if you powder the back of one card and place it into the middle/top/bottom of the deck - you can time where the powder puffs.

Hmm I can see lots of uses for this.

This is just one I've thought up. A card is selected and lost in the deck. Then you cut the deck and hold the top half of the deck like a gun. 'Fire' at the tabled half of the deck, (if you could get the tabled half to move at the same time that would be good too), producing the puff. Then the chosen card is revealed by having a hole in it, or maybe a little blood splatter, from where you 'shot' it.

Great ides there chaps

How about palming the selected card but having a minature version at the point of smoke.
Spec selects
Quick top change
Place the 'selection' into the deck
Square the deck (and TP real card!)
Use some hokerypokery
Genie Smoke
Small version of selection (possibly using ideas of headshrinking)
If you MCF the original you can then restore the mini to the original again after examination!!
