Postby ardimon » Sep 12th, '06, 18:13

Have you tried searching for it in the archive? It was reviewed on 28th September 2005...

and while we're about it, why not introduce yourself and read the forum guidelines. You'll get a lot more out of TM the more you put in.

Okay

Postby ardimon » Sep 12th, '06, 18:55

Okay, im sorry. I have been practice in about 2 years on/off. Im still a little afraid to " show ", what i learned. I have some dvd and some books. the dvd are from Ellusionist and I have some of Jay Sankey and Greg Wilson. I think he is very good. I have been practice The Pass a lot, and think im good at it. But i need some Down on earth tricks with no props and easy going. There for i was thinking of Michael Ammer and hes dvd.

My major problem is still that im afraid of showing people my tricks. Next month i will join a magic club in the town i live.I hope that couldt fit me well.

Don't worry about being wary of showing your stuff, just work on it until you feel happy and it'll be fine. A Magic club will probably give you lots of opportunities to show stuff and compare notes with others - they probably had similar worries at one time!

Don't be afraid to show magic. The first real show i did was very scary, after a while you become used to it. Have fun

I can thoroughly recommend Michael Ammar's work. Any of it. His card stuff, his stuff on IT, coins, cups and balls... it's all amazing.

Buy whatever you're interested in.

you will get exactly that with michael ammar, easy to do, no props other than a deck of cards, great effects, i am a big fan of michael and i have a lot of his work, some of the reactions you get with even some of the most simplest to do trick are great!

i agree. michael ammar works are brilliant. simple yet fools the hell out of people.i performed some of his easiest tricks and the reactions i got was almost the same as what i would get as turning a cup of coffee into coins.

off topic but, i think the best reaction i got was with ET. i zapped one of my female friends and she shrieked and shrieked and shrieked and searched my body but was nowhere close to finding out the secret  im just so happy with the reaction i get from using ET haha. it has nothing to do with this post or anything else o.o

Brads stuff is good and his teaching methods are very good also. Ammars stuff is also good but is pretty easy to pull off. Im stil findidng the pass with brads method off the dvd beginning with pretty hard to master especially when seeing when i bought it i was under the impression that it was dealing with this move and nothing but and i do feel a little ripped off. but then that might be just me and i cant get my head round it. if anyone else knows of a better pass teacher please pm me with details.

A better pass teacher

Postby ardimon » Sep 16th, '06, 10:40

I did not like Brads teaching of the pass. I have the dvd starring Richard Kaufmann. The name of the dvd is On the pass... It very good. I wa a very disapointed when i bought Ninja series at Ellusionist and found out yhere only where 5 minutes teaching.

Michael Ammar. This pack contain some of the greatest clasics of card magic. A lot of close up marvels... is 100 time more magical and effective tahn Brad Cristian magic. But, sincerely, i think is more effective read a book. Vernon, Kaps, Colombini... they think exactly the same way, and they know what they talking about!!!! If you look Michael Ammar´s vids probably you start to do the tricks exactly the same way than Michael. If you learn from a book, you work with your hability to understand, you work with your imagination, you are force to think the way to do the trick with your naturalness, your way to talk, and that is a very good think because you understand a lot more about... yourself. You will recognize your own style, you will understand and be able to study about your self a lot more... because that game, that you learn from that book will be unique... why? because nobody in the entire world think the same way, so the way to create the magic atmosphere will be absolutely different from any other in the world, because you do it without any visual reference... you must create all... you know that this technique is a "secret movement" (no a "fake movement") so, you must think about the way to do it, without breaking the rythym, without making a dead time... i don´t know... i have a lot of ideas but i don´t speak english very well, as you probably can see... I humbly recomend you read the expert card technique and the royal road to card magic from Hugard and Braue... both are one of the the most incredibles recopilations of real card magic marvels....
Sorry 4 my english...

I love Michael Ammar, in fact I would reccomend him for all card workers. He has style, and his material blows you away. What's more? He's really down to earth. He is one of those that I really respect.
