FRAUD by Daniel Garcia

Postby Dominick » Sep 25th, '06, 20:28

Hey guys. Got home from school to see this sitting on my step. I was MIGHTY excited!

The Effect

The beauty of FRAUD is its simplicity. The spectator sees their signed, borrowed bill, and your two hands - that's it. At the end, they are left with their signed bill still in hand-- visibly altered in a manner they know is impossible.

The seal on the signed bill is pushed from one side of the bill all the way to the other.

Start clean. End clean. They can examine your hands, the bill, and the Sharpie to their heart's content. There's nothing to do but take their bill home with them and start showing it to people.

Cost

$24.95

From: http://www.ellusionist.com/order/Fraud- ... ia-X92.php

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

I'd give it a two or three.

Review
Well...Where can I start. The DVD itself is a beauty. The menu, everything. It's just great. Also with the DVD you get a special something:wink: Right then, on with the trick itself. Everything about the psychology, to construction, and to handling it covered GREATLY in this DVD. No stone is left unturned with Garcia. He tells you everything there is to know about this trick. The handling is beautiful. It's SO easy and yet SO powerful. This is by far my favorite Garcia I've picked up. The construction takes some time...But it is SO worth it. Everything in the description is true...You can reset like lightning, you show your hands empty before and after...It's VERY nice. The performances he has on there are also great. They help a lot with the handling and timing and what-not.

Overall
I am completely in shock of how awesome this is. If you have a brain in your head and $24.95 in your pocket, you will get this in the next day.

Teaching: 9/10
Performances: 10/10
Overall: 9.5/10

PICK THIS UP!!

Thanks,
Dominick

Wow. Great review! So do you thin it would work on english currency? I have just seen this:

'Does it work with foreign money?
While the basic concept may work for some foreign currency, the effect has only been tested with United States bills. FRAUD is designed, instructed, and intended for use on US bills only'

Do you personally think it would because i'd buy it staright away.

I highly suggest that everyone buys this trick. Even if you arn't really into magic, it is easy enough to just do like at a family gathering or around the office. Very creative. Can't wait to see what Mr. Garcia's next trick will be!

Again...You probably could..But I'd have to see the bill to tell you you could...It's a simple concept...But when you bring up a foreign currency, that's when things get a little more complicated...I can't really say anymore on here...But I'm open to PMs withough revealing.

the quick reset is very nice, but, once you construct what you need, is that it? or do you need to re-construct it for future performances. I hope this is OK to ask. thanks

Well...You could construst more if you wanted...Or just reuse the same one. It's all your decision if you want them to have a souvenier because by all means, they can.

Can you get any idea whether it would work with an English fiver from these pics?

Maybe you could move that stamp to the right of the magnetic strip over the queens watermark?

hmm, yeah i watched the video last night instead of studying... still did pretty good on the test.

it seems really techinical and a pain to construct, but i think that the reactions that you will get will be worth the time that you construct the bill

I find the construction to be relatively easy.

true. but it does seem to take awhile. im about to mass produce like 7 of them right now :D

edit
ookay and i finished making 5 bills and it took me about an hour, i was watching the dvd as well and learning the routine.

so heres my review
THIS IS GREAT! also one of my fav of Garcia, Greed was good too, but i like this one better because of how simple(er?) it is. the handling is very easy and the reactions should be amazing (going to try it out tommorow at school). tje downside about this trick is the construction. but once you learn how to construct it, you can make one in about 5 mins tops.

I'll probably have to end up getting this soon. Its just harder for us i nthe UK because £5 is the lowest note, and i'll need to get my hands on loads then for this effect.

Just realised, the £5 notes have changed havn't they. The crest is differnt and is like 2cm away from the watermark now.

These are the newer fivers:

Do you think it will work with these? I don't suppose it will look as good as it isn't really as far away. Does it have to be moved over the water mark or could be over the queen or something?

Well...You could move it anywhere really...But it's a lot easier with American bills...and since a pound is worth about 2 bucks, it shouldn't cost you much to get a couple of them.
