Impromtu Books/Videos

Postby theunknown » Sep 30th, '06, 17:51

I have been doing magic for a while now, focusing on cards. My friends know me for my card tricks but now i realize that if someone were to come up to me and ask me to do a trick, and i would have no deck with me, i would be completely lost. So, does anybody have any books/videos about impromtu magic they would recomend. Preferably sleight of hand not any of that "works by itself" suff.

Thanks

Try Jay Sankeys "No Card Tricks" which is great, and something I got to be able to show people tricks if I didnt happen to have a deck of cards on me... and also "Anywhere, Anytime" by Jay Sankey which I haven't seen but have heard great things about.

Other than that, go grab a copy of JB Bobo's Modern Coin Magic, and get practicing. Then, whenever anybody asks you to see a trick... borrow a coin and do some crazy magic stuff on them :D

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

I agree with Ecko, buying the BOBO book will be one of the best things you will do. A true classic of magic that every magician should own.

Learn something with a ring, most people wear one, Al Schinders ring on pencil in most situations you can find a ring and pencil.pen, straw, etc etc.
Also Jay Sankeys Anytime anywhere and Greg Wilsons on the spot. what has stuff with pens. coins, sponge balls out of napkins it is a good dvd

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.
