Sorry if this has been adressed before, but I was thinking of adding Royal Road to Card Magic to my DVD collection, but I see there are 2 different versions with the same name. (And 2 totally different prices).

One is a 4 DVD set:
But the other one is a 5 DVD set:
Somebody told me they are the same, but one is UK made, the other USA made, but another magician told me they are totally different.

Does anybody have the knowledge to share about those 2 different sets with the same name? Is one better than the other?

The general consensus seems to be that the five-disc set is the way to go.

I recommend the five disc set

yes. The R Paul Wilson set is EXCELLENT. Worth picking up the book as a companion to the DVD's too.

Although you can do without it. Paul Wilson says there are a couple of things in the book left out of the dvd (not many though) but I've found the book a little vague. I still read the book but I think its better to watch how he does it and explains it on the dvd

General opinion is that the 5-disk set is better.

However, I only say that because I bought it based on general opinion. I don't know of a comparative review.

If you're going to spend 50 quid on the DVDs, then the book is only a tenner or so more. I tend to watch the DVD, and read the book in bed.

Though maybe I'm just sad.

IMO the 5 dvds one is WAY better.

Never saw the four disc set, but I loved the 5 disc one.

The difficult thing with this kind of question is the people who bought the 4 disc set (doesn't look like anyone) probably don't have the 5 disk set and visa versa - so no-one can really give an accurate measure on which is better. I don't have either - but I have the book - so I'd say get the book
