single lift pretending to have 2

Postby Henk » Oct 8th, '06, 21:22

hey guys,

I've been trying to come up with some tricks of my own..
but in a few a these wannabetricks:P I want to create the illusion that im taking 2 cards from the deck.. (only when taking them of) after taking them off they can look like one again, than I just pretend to straighten out the 2 cards which would look like having 2, but which is acctually one.. so is there a sleight where you pretend to take 2.. but actually take one..

hope you guys understand my question:p
and I hope someone knows about the exsistance of a sleight like that.
:)

erm..... well. perhaps u could take the two cards, show them and place them on top, take them again and tell the people to remember the cards.

say ace of spades is the 2nd card, tht wud mean there was say the three of hearts on top when u place them on the deck, with use of patter and misdirection, pretend to take off the 2 cards but jst slip out the second card. then square up motions etc.

hope this helps and u understand lol.

Oh it's done all the time in magic. Similar to what Mikey.666 said, the easiest way of doing it is to show the two spread, then place them on the deck under the guise of squaring them. As you do this you catch a break beneath the top card and lift it up as if it is two. You have to be careful though that the thickness problem does not give you away.

If you use more than two cards - which is ideal - you can then use something like the Biddle Move to aid the deception .

meh. IMO pretending to do a DL is only good for faking out magicans, thats it. or laymen who know abou tthe DL.

the point of a DL is to fool the spectator isnt it?

?!~

For crying out loud, the msn button under my name is to talk about magic with me, NOT A FREE MAGIC GIVEAWAY LINK. dont abuse it
