Hiya all. Pretty new here, so thought id introduce myself.
SHORT VERSION:
Am a magician based in Grantham (Lincs). Have been performing magic since I was about 7 (am now 32). Have been looking to go pro recently and have done a few gigs with a fellow magician. In bars and clubs mainly, though have just recently performed my first solo act in a local restaurant.
LONG VERSION (For the more bored members…)
Most of this can be seen at my website http://dark-side.atspace.com/
Born in Portsmouth, Hampshire in 1974, I first gained my interest in magic when I saw magicians on television as a child. I performed my first few tricks for my family when I was just 7 years old. Seeing the wonder in their eyes led me to pursue magic further, learning countless card tricks.
By the time I was 15 my interest had started to expand into other areas, using everyday objects such as coins, notes and drinking glasses. At 19, due mainly to television awareness, I started combining mentalism effects into my routine.
In the year 2000, I moved to Colchester in Essex where I met a fellow magician - David Mayhew.
Combining our talents, we performed at many places in Essex, including bars, restaurants and night clubs, often being hired for special events such as charity events, "fun" nights held by the local radio station - SGR Colchester and Halloween nights for Chicago Rock Café.
The successful partnership led to the creation of DARKSIDE, and the team were frequently being hired for private functions and birthday parties.
In January 2006 I moved to Grantham in Lincolnshire to live with my beloved partner Sarah-Jayne. I still see and work with David on occasion, though DARKSIDE is now predominantly myself.
Having just performed my first solo act at a local restaurant with promises of repeat bookings (see thread http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/ftopic13894.php ), I now do consider myself a professional even if I am not working full time...for now.
I have much experience and as well as asking for tips, hope to be able to share (some of

Nice to meet you all and hope to be chatting to you soon.
