22 Bullet Catch

Postby Delude » Oct 10th, '06, 15:08

Hey all, i was thinking of maybe buying a bullet catch as its just a pretty awesome thing to do :D
I was wandering if the bullet can be signed at all? I doubt it can but just wanted to ask.

I've got this. Tisn't bad, however, I've only performed this once.

You have to be careful where you do it. Outside is a bad idea as it looks like live ammunition.
It makes a bit of noise so it might scare kids, and no the bullet can't be signed.

If you want mine, PM me with an offer and I'll see what I can do mate

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

its good but i don't really think its workable to be honest, as i have performed this a few times a had problem with the c**s exploding, which isn't a good thing  also find the handling quite awkward, but saw aul zennon do this on tv and he did it great!!!! the choice is yours
out of 5 i would give it a 2

Does it look like a toy gun, or is it relatively realistic.

Thaks flash! The search didn't pick that up :? I've seen it being called 'Bullet catch 22' and also '22 bullet catch'

You don't use a gun, you hold the bullet and then expose a flame to the end of it.

got this trick last week. i think it is a very effective trick. if when the trick arrives you look at the props i think you'll figure out a way to sign the bullet it's slightly more complicated and you'll have to practice a hell of a lot more but it is possible. plus doing it outside. well, depends how much of a reputation you want to get. i would say that i wouldn't just stand in the middle of the street and say "WOOHOO I'm gonna fire this bullet and catch it in my mouth" but if you build it into your show build it up and put plenty of warnings into it.

I got this recently and although i wasn't expecting the method, I think it's a good one. I do what someone else on this forum does and uses the *ahem* with a lighter, not the matchbook, I think it looks a whole lot better.

I bought this a few years ago & used the "cough cough" with a lighter instead of a matchbook. I also introduced a small hammer which gave me a reason to go into my pocket where I could ditch something & be clean at the end. I stopped using it after the C**ps failed to do their job a couple of times.

If you can't rely on something you have to find a way round or stop using it. I couldn't see a way round a most c**ps are all the same.

22 Bullet Catch as a stage trick...

Postby Dan Harris » Apr 19th, '09, 18:33

I do stage and theatre shows with my double act partner, Josh. We wanted a really good finisher for our act and in 22 Bullet Catch...we found it! :D When we first recieved the trick, we were unsure as to how the logistics of prop handling would work with 2 people. However, after a bit of deliberation it was easy. As said before, in practice it someitmes didnt work, which I suppose is the chance you take, but as long as you perform the few, easy sleights well, its fool-proof :)
