whole and mirror card tricks

Postby connor o'connor » Oct 8th, '06, 09:06

Been trying to find the following card tricks for some time now,

first is a 4 card trick, the cards turn over magicaly one by one, then at the end you say 'it was all done by mirrors  ' If you have this you will know what I mean.

second cards are shown some are whole some have a hole some have whole written on them. The finish I have heard is 'and that is the hole story  '

any names to the tricks and where I can perchase them appreciated, + if I had a name I could mabee find a reveiw

thanks in advance Connor OConnor

The first effect you're looking for can come from a number of different places. One variation of it is called Flipped, marked and mirrored - but I can't remember where I saw that one. There are other variations, but I can't remember names at the moment. Try searching for that one. In that effect you show four cards, with each "twist" or "move" a different card turns face down, showing a red back. When that is done, you show the cards are marked - except now all four cards are blue backed and have a big black "X" on the back. When asked how you do that, you say "it's all done with mirrors", then turn over the four cards to show they have mirror backs - the cards can be examined. That's the basic effect, and you can find variations on that theme (some - like the Capitulating Cards - don't use mirrored backs, instead finishing with four different colored backs). I'm sure others here can offer other names up.

The "hole" trick you're talking about is Larry West's "The Whole Thing"

Pretty cool little packet effect, but it's an old item - and I haven't seen it sold in stores or online in a long time. Might check ebay for it.

This is the trick you mention you had the title just about sorted!

There is also do a version called Charge It which is one of my favourites.

Charge It is a lot better I feel due to the gambling tale you can tell while doing it, and at the end when they have no cash to pay instead of mirrors the backs are all shown as credit cards.

Video demo of charge it here:
