hey guys
im having trouble with my colour change.

when i pull back on the other card, another card decides to tag along.
this isnt a problem on a face up colour change but say a red card is on top, you perform the colour change (so a blue backed card is now on top) and you need the red card under one blue only, but there's to blues there because of the tag along.
its a bit of a problem.

any advice would be great. thanks.

There are many different types of color changes. Which one is giving you trouble? From what you described, I think you are trying to learn the Erdnase change. Let me know what you are trying to learn. If it is the Erdnase, or any other colour change I am familiar with, I will try to help you out.

What kind of cards are you using, and how old is the deck? Older and cheaper cards will tend to get sticky and can be tough to work with as they want to stick/clump with others.

Not that I am an expert on the ECC but I have found that when more cards come along for the ride with the card I am trying to pull back, it was because I was applying too much pressure on that card. I have found that I only needed to apply enough pressure to create enough friction to allow the card to be pulled back.

I find that if you moisten the finger tips and the heal of your palm, then you can apply very little presure to the cards and it will go freely on "IT's" own

I always push the whold deck forward on a slight angle like a "step" from back to front, and angle the deck down when I say "look watch the whatever card, by then I have what I need all ready, then when I re-cover the deck with my hand I square the deck up from front to back and Hey Presto, it is done!

I know this topic is old and everything, but I have just had this same problem.

I wanted to say that I have just realized the importance of the 'lightest' touch when doing the erdnase colour change. If only I would have appreciated this long ago. I have noticed drastic improvements just by lightening my touch. When I use a smooth light touch it looks so nice when the card changes.

btw - I'll soon put a vid of my erdnase on youtube, once its good enough of course, maybe a few days, maybe weeks.

It also helps if you gain a small pinky break under the top card (to be changed) before you start the move. This is handy if you're using old cards and they don't slide well.
