Wooden stakes thru cardboard box

Postby yoshi » Oct 18th, '06, 09:41

I saw this effect on the Monkey Magic type program on Sky 1.

It was a spanish magician who used wooden stakes and drove them into a cardbox box with a woman inside. You could see below the box and 360 view.

He then put a sword thru the top.

How do I perform this effect? I understand the basic principle of the sword-thru-box trick, but can't understand this one as the cardboard box looked intact to me before the wooden stakes were thrust into it.

Oh dear, somebody else who didn't read the rules.

"How do you do.....?" is not a question alloed in here. This is not a website that reveals secrets.

The answe to your question is go out and buy a book / DVD and learn the trick.

Well, I know the principal of this trick...but the cardboard box makes with big wooden stakes got me thinking.

Where can I buy this trick then? I can't seem to get any data on this specific version. It works very well because of the cardboard box aspect.

Try Google, try any search engine, try calling or e mailing some of the hundreds of magic shops that advertise on the wb. How do you think anyone who could answer through this forum will have got the information?

That's not 100% true Johnny Wizz. You can say: "How do you do!" when you greet somebody here in TM... and don't put a question mark behind it :P
Regarding your question yoshi, try this

Its no different than swords through a box. Exact same principal.

I really dont see anything special, except it was a much cheaper version, than buying a ready made wooden box and swords.

The cardboard box looked solid, without any pre-made holes.

The whole trick worked really good 'cos it was a cardboard box which we can all relate to it's fragility and ungimmickedness.
