with the following customer review :
for beginers and semi pro's this is very useful. Some cool ideas clearly explained and demonstrated.
A dvd that could bring hours of enjoyment to your routines if applied correctly, i found it very useful and informative, and therefore recommend it!

Hope that helps, though I haven't seen it myself and so am not saying it is good or bad, this is only one review from one source but it gives you an idea. I am sure somebody that has seen it will reply soon enough :)

Edit :
also found this customer review somewhere else :
I'd say that most of the tricks on this DVD are gags. Small jokes and gagy things to add to your performances. If you're expecting a DVD on actual tricks and routine stuff, then you don't want this. But if you want a few neat things to add to your shows then just click "ADD TO CART". I like it even though it wasn't what I expected.

Jim Pace is a working pro and one of the best magicians (both technically and in performance) in the world. The review was correct, this is not a DVD full of finished routines, although there are some here. But it is much more than a collection of "gags." I personally have never been disappointed with anything that Jim has put out on the market.

I bought this on the strength of the performances and visual methods used by Pace. And also, on the strength of his 'Visual Shock' effects, like The Web, Invisio Torch and Afterburn (and more recently Hot Leads).

All I can add is that Jim's style of presentation is excellent. It's quite a dry, modest style - which is very lacking in the usual cheesy grinning of most visual illusionists.

It suits very well, and you would definately benefit from some of the down-playing which goes down a storm. It throws people off the scent of the moment when something is about to happen.

Although there ARE things to be learned from this video, it is indeed a good thing to mention that this is not a collection of 'learn easy' effects and tricks, but more a reference book for your performance.

Many subtleties and methods which are usually overlooked during performance are re-iterated, and this really does strip down your PERFORMANCE and make you re-think your workings, to an extent.

As for being a collection of 'gags' - I fail to see this. Comedic nuances and subtle performance enhancements, yes - gags - most certainly not.

And also, I would say that this DVD would be an asset to magicians of all standards - from beginners to pros.

Very clever, very visual, very entertaining, and ultimately very good value.

oops. Somehow, when I split the reveiw into here, I lost the original message that requested the review, .

But as the review and following comments are the main interest I'm not going to beat myself up about it.

Seige, could you finish off the review by adding your score and ease ratings please?
Just to give a prospective buyer some more info, thanks in advance.

Err... OK... but it wasn't meant to be a review, just joining in on the banter...

OK, rating: 8/10 - drops 2 points for leaving me wanting more at certain times - but that's probably because this is one of those DVD's that's like a really enjoyable film - you just don't want it to end. Pure eye candy, and very inspirational

Difficulty Hard to gauge this, really, as it's a mixed bag of stuff. Ranges from 1 (easy for beginners) to 3 (needs a bit of knowledge and skill).

There's a lot on this DVD for all walks of magic life, and there's a few different disciplines covered too. Although, it's not so much the tricks or performances that make this a good buy - it's a lot more to do with what is actually being taught.

If I'm not mistaken, there's a demo video at PenguinMagic.com... have a look and you'll see what I mean...
