Hi,

I've recently regained my interest in Magic (used to love it when I was a little 'un, but now I'm 31).

Why? I saw a trick done on a movie clip, and thought "I know how he did that" so I performed it for a few mates later that evening and their reaction was fab. They were really impressed, and it was a really great feeling

So now I'm hooked again

So where do I start?
I want to learn a few tricks, so I think a DVD would be a good start. Mostly interested in small close up stuff, cards, coins etc, rather than "big" tricks. Any suggestions on a good starting place?

Ta

Hi and welcome to TM

I suppose a good place to start you off would be "Royal Road to Card Magic" and Oz Pearlman's "Born To Perform".

I'm sure a few more peeps will have some other suggestions too, so sit tight and enjoy the ride

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

That seems to be quite a common situation so you're not on your own here! welcome to TM, check out the Review section for thoughts and comments about various effects, routines and so on and see what appeals to you. We try to keep a broad spectrum of magic under discussion so there's bound to be something going on which covers your interests.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!
