I wouldnt recomend putting the actual name of the effects.
None of them worked for me.
I hope you have permission to use the ghost cards back ground on your site.
What is the point of your site. Its the run around.

you asked.

As a designer, I have to make a few comment about the site design and layout.

First and foremost, and this is just a personal pet peeve. Consider completely finishing your site BEFORE putting it up on the web. There's nothing more annoying than going to a web site, getting a little interested, and then finding "coming soon" everywhere. While we're on that subject - lose the "soon..." on the navigation menus. If you don't have content, yet - don't leave a dead link hanging there.

Your navigation system is decent, can't really find too much fault with it - but it doesn't go with the rest of the layout. The entire design should have a cohesive look and feel. I'm only speculating, but it looks like you snagged layout elements from different sites and just pasted the coding into one page.

As David pointed out - you probably shouldn't be using the Ghost Deck images, as I'm almost positive those images are protected by copyright (the design of the ace of spades is, for sure). Beyond that - your compositing skills could use some work.

I'm going to sound really critical, but I find this trend to be so infuriating. Just because you have access to an image editing program, doesn't mean you're suddenly a graphic designer. Your image on top of that background is very poorly done. It looks like you started to cut yourself from the original image, but just gave up in the middle of it. You can still clearly see the hard edges of the original photograph - as well as some of the posters that were behind you. One thing you should be selling is your hair. It's a cool look and it works for you. In this image, however - it just looks awful. It no longer looks like your hair (with the half-hearted soft erase around your head) it looks more like a black background that you didn't erase. You should try isolating yourself in that picture, as I think the hair would make the picture look better.

Your "phat-magic" logo gets lost in the detail of the background image - and "the magic of hotrod" is almost unreadable. You might be able to save the phat magic part if you remove the line pattern near the bottom and keep the text as a flat, light gray color. However, I would advise either moving or changing the color of the magic of hotrod.

These are things you have to consider with design. You can't just slap a few images and some text together and think it's going to work. That's what you've done. And to top it off, that image stands in complete contrast to the rest of your site - making the entire layout suffer as a result.

If you plan to use this site beyond personal reasons - you really need to think about your presentation. If this is going to be a site to get gigs as a magician - you will lose out on A LOT of business with this site. Think as a professional - think about clarity and legibility. As it stands, if you're trying to sell yourself with this site, very few people will buy.

As for your videos -

Infusion - you were WAY too close to the camera. As a result, you can barely tell what's going on. The glass leaves frame, seriously diminishing the strength of the penetration.

Revolution - As I know how this works, I know you didn't do what others will accuse you of. However - the extreme close up makes it VERY easy for someone to say you just threw the coin onto the floor when your hands left the view of the camera.

Your levitation was ok. I'm not a fan of these, but from a technical standpoint, it works. In this effect your placement of the camera was MUCH better.

Voodoo Zone (Actually card warp) - you took too long getting started. Remember the presentation of the effect. You are slipping one folded card inside another - this should be a very smooth (and relatively fast) bit of "prep". Any fidgeting and fumbling will arouse suspicion. The performance of the effect was done well (personally I didn't like the fast in and out section you did. It just doesn't play that well for me). Once again, I feel you were too close to the camera, but in this particular effect, everything was on screen, so it worked.

No ideas about the site but please don't use such a large and unnecessary image as your sig - this is a Discussion Forum not an advertising board.
