Dead Man Walking from India

Postby Dead Man Walking » Oct 26th, '06, 07:24

Hey there magicians.

I am Dead Man Walking (DMW or Dead) from India. I am 21 + local taxes.

I am fairly new to magic and wish to learn more from your knowledge.
I have found this community to be really helpful (unless you don't break the rules) and have helped me already till I found what I was looking for.

I only perform impromptu magic (mostly card) or magics that only need a little setup.

I currently don't do magic involvong any kind of gimmick/props as I have found no magic shops or local magic community (although here, there are a lot of black magicians perhaps more than one in every locality, but thats not what I am looking forward to)

So are there any Indian magicians here?

I also like performing magic in a humorous way (or what I think is humor)

My current favourites are:

Ambitious Card Routine
Biddle trick
sick aces
trick switch
Chance Zero
do as I do
Jokers Wild
Mind Bender
Synergy

Well thats what I remember for now.

Also can some one please tell me of tricks (card or not card) that are impromptu or do not require gimmicks.

I thaught of opening a topic like that: Tricks without gimmicks/props.
But I thaught that it must have been done before (searched the forum but didn't find such topic)

So should I open such topic?

Thanks.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

One of my favourites is "Out of this World" (or "Order this World", which is just a slight variation on "Out of this World"). It just requires a lil' preparation beforehand, but believe me - this is a real knock-'em-dead trick !!

Go for it. If it has been discussed before, a mod will point you in the right direction

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

Thanks for the warm welcome my friends

I'm already feeling alive now.....it feels like magic.

Is "Out of this World" the trick in which you separate the Red cards from Black and have 2 different pile and it is done in spectators hand.

If yes then it my personal favourites too. Ellusionilist calls it "Chance Zero" whereas penguin calls it "Out of this World". I have the Ellusionist one.

I thought of opening a topic like "Gimmickless Magic Tricks" - I searched but didn't find one. I did find Impromptu but not propless, So I think it would be a great topic.

First I thought that people will think - ah! another newbie looking for some impromptu magic, so asked here first, but now I got the green chit I'll open such topic in Support & Tips.

Thanks.
