Okay, so as some of you have seen from the Reviews section, I recently got Jay Sankey's Earplugs from the IMS convention.

I watched the DVD many times and learnt a fair old few moves. Some of them look ok, and some of them I'm undecided on. They look a bit crook to me, but i know exactly what I'm doing...

Anyway, here then, is my first ever sponge routine.

It's called Closing Time, and I made it up after an hour of sitting down routining around an idea of going to the pub with a mate.

Closing Time is the result!

All comments and contstructive criticism will be greatly received.

Mentioning the fact that the song over the end credits is by an indie band will not be greatly received

Yeah, well i thought that was pretty cool. Nice and smooth.

Maybe a little strange that at the start, the earplugs are earplugs, then for the rest of the routine, they represent pints of lager.

But i shouldn't think that really matters that much. Nice patter and presentation Mr.Zero.

Yes... that is a little weird, but I think it works. To be honest I just wanted to be able to "produce" them without saying "here is two pints of lager..."

Coolio badboy, the only problem was that the earplugs went out of shot a lot so it was a little hard to keep track of exactly what was going on. Handling was fine though and seeing as you've brought the issue of the final song up already, you missed off the best line which was just coming up: "You don't have to go home but you can't stay here". Always made me chuckle for some reason.

Yeah, unfortunately the lead which attaches the camera to the computer is quite short, so I couldn't have as much of it in as I wanted

I've only been practicin for a couple of days so my progress seems to have gone well.

Funnily enough, in relation to the last song, I haven't heard that song since I "went metal" as my mates say, but it was the first song that came to mind when I wanted a song.
So I dug out the album and am thrilled to find out it's still jsut as brilliant as it always was...

Nice routine! I like your patter, and you got lots of things in there, transpositions, productions, tranfsformations etc. very good.
