Modern Coin Magic DVD (Is it any good)

Postby myuserid » Oct 31st, '06, 03:07

I bought the Bobo Coin book, and I just found this dvd set. http://www.penguinmagic.com/product.php?ID=1396

Anyone know if its any good? Im a very visual person, but I want to confirm its worth the extra money to help figure out some of the sleights/tricks quicker.

Cheers-

Hi,

This set is pretty comprehensive. I don't have the Bobo book but picked this DVD set up cheap on ebay.

It is good quality and the tuition is very clear. The effects and techniques are shown rather quickly, without too much explanation of what might be problematic, but it's so easy to play the scene again that this barely matters.

From the cheap-looking cover I thought this would be a shabby production -- I was wrong. It is very slick and well-organised.

I would recommend it to visual learners. Perhaps if I also had the book I would get the deeper thinking I like when I am learning something.
However, I am focusing on cards and thought I would just look at this before I did anything with coins.

Hope this helps!

Alex

I think that you rather should get Sankey's Modern Coin magic DVD. The teaching on this DVD is better and also it is fun to watch the DVD and to learn the sleights. Sankey is a really funny teacher.
