I'm still trying to think nice thoughts to calm down after swearing at my tax return all morning. I positively welcome being investigated right now just so I can get a tax man in a room and rant at him to my satisfaction!

Funny story involving tax returns...

A friend of mine who runs a small CD production company came under investigation 2 years ago. He had the tax men come round and everything. Went through every receipt imaginable, positively tore his taxes to pieces and having been investigating for 8 hours they found that over a 3 year period they actually owed him £7.

He offered them a free CD for their troubles whereby he was rather nastily informed that bribing tax officers is a crime!!

Jeez! And they wonder why no one likes tax inspectors.

Personally, I don't have any expenses that are worth claiming. Even a ream of paper lasts me several years. If I want more money, I pitch more ideas - it's as simple as that. I just log the writing jobs that come ie on a spreadsheet so I can invoice them and then sum them at the end of the year. I buy the odd laptop or printer as old ones wear out and that's it. Working out the capital allowances calculations are driving me insane, however!

Frankly, I havent got the wit or time to fiddle with anything other than a deck of cards, let alone the taxman.

i have spent a little too much today...

magic, an xbox 360 game, a cd by a group called The Stairs, and more magic...

oh dear...still, i have the pub coming at me in around ten minutes...

lovely spanish beer, some whiskey and some bbq ribs for me dinner...

oooh and a promise of a rather fine cuban cigar later if i go to some sordid little boozer or other in soho...it seems rude not to...

then when i get up tomorrow, all my lovely magic will be there...

i think i might go video it actually. could be good for a laugh. now for a prize.... hm... a signed copy of magicseen perhaps (the one I'm in that is, of course) or perhaps my back catalogue of stuff i've come up with, which isn't a lot to be fair, but some of it is quite nice; you'd learn to make your own production deck at least
