So, many of you seem like really good magicians to me, do you guys get gigs at places and perform, or do you just go around the streets and never cease to amaze random people. And if you do get these gigs, how and how long did it take you to get these in your years of practice at magic? But im not asking these questions for the purpose of wanting money. I am seriously commited to magic for the love of it, not the profit. I was just wondering. Also if you guys do put on shows, maybe i could come out and see one of you some time. Thanks!!!

generaly most practised for 5 - 6 years before performing proper excluding kids parties and showing tricks to friends and families.

sorry i didnt realize that i didnt post my location and age in my introduction. But whatever. I am 16 and i live in chicago IL. I know that this is an English based site, and that most of you would probably be performing in your local areas, but you never know, maybe sometime ill be in your town, and i was just hoping maybe to see a good show. There isn't really any around me that i know of. But also i dont think i said my name either in my introduction. It is Matt. Sorry.

I've been doing magic on and off for about 10 years but on;y really started to get serious in the last year.

I spent about a year boring my friends, family and girlfriend to tears with poor tricks which slowly got better. It wasn't until last month that I got the confidance to get out there and show people. I've got a 5 trick routine that I just take around the pubs and show to anyone who's interested. I'm currently polishing a second 5 trick routine at the moment.

I'd love to do a paid gig but at the moment I know I'm no where near good or confidant enough.

No problems, to add the details, go into your Profile and under Location add Chicago IL (16:**) and in place of the asterisks, put your own assessment of your magical status - AH is Amateur Hobbyist, WP is Working Professional etc - all explained in the sticky at the start of the Forum if you want to check the other possibilities.

Even though we're based in the UK, it's good to hear opinions and stories from all parts of the globe - Magic is universal and we'll do whatever we can to keep it that way!
