Stupid Newbie Question

Postby johntheblob » Nov 7th, '06, 00:20

Well, I have been here for a little bit, and I think that I am fitting in rather well. There is only one thing that hasnt quite clicked yet. I still dont know what CUPS is lol. :( Its probably just an inside joke, but if it is, I would love to be filled in. Any info would be appreciated!

PS, if its something that cant be shared, thats fine too, I understand the way of things.

Most of us do.

And currently there is no effective drug for it.

Very true. Secret and intensive research for such an antidote continued for many years but has recently been abandoned 'cos there's no cure, no antidote and no hope for those afflicted with it. We just have to buy more magic.
(Mandrake silently leaves the room so others won’t see him weeping - and craftily orders a few magical items just to cheer himself up  !)

I carry the burden of CUPS too.... so many items I'll never use yet can never part with - just in case!! A classic symptom of the syndrome!

CUPS hasn't really managed to take hold of me regarding magic just yet, but I've got it bad when it comes to bike bits. I nice carbon fibre bit for my bike will have me reaching for the wallet.

Guys I am happy to say that my affliction has somehow been naturally cured!

No longer do I find myself wanting random bits of magic, choosing to buy only the occasional book from time-to-time.

I feel for you guys, but there is light at the end of the tunnel :D.

Any clues on how you managed to cure yourself of this would be of great use in the C.U.P.S sufferers forum in the forum request section.

I'm getting worse

Darn... In my bank there is a nice lady that just smiles when I am suffering from CUPS. No help there!

The magic shops and Discover are in cahoots. I just know it. Through a masterful combination of credit limit raises and sale items they are ensuring that my CUPS is a terminal case.

Some of my magic suppliers have even given me free items! and I STILL spend more money!

However I have tried weening myself off the syndrome by purchasing a rather good "special" book with over 400 pages, that I have promised to read at least twice before I buy anymore stuff. (However, I did fall off the wagon though, to buy a little "special" thing mentioned in the first chapter)

A little competition for you all.

The item I brought was mentioned in the seventh word of page four of the first chapter in the book.

Who wrote the book?

I made my wife dissapear just by arguing with her!!!
